Peace Prayer Walk and Peace Bracelet
October 15 to 24, 2011 marks the 10 day Peace Prayer Walk of 187 km. from LaVerna to Assisi, Italy. Reverend Phran Gacher was one of several people to make this pilgrimage over hills and through small towns, walking in the steps of St. Francis of Assisi in October, 2011.
They added their strength, endurance, and commitment to peace and love on the 25th Anniversary of the original Peace Conclave. Read and hear about Reverend Phran's experiences through her Peace Blog and hear more about her thoughts for bringing peace into your everyday experiences! (This new blog will be coming soon!)
The Peace Bracelet is personally handmade by Reverend Phran using a variety of semi-precious gem stones. See below for a list of their attributes and associated prayers.
Note: Donations and purchase of the Peace Bracelet may be made through Pay Pal on this site. Prayers and wishes for Peace may be sent through the contact form.

Origin of the Peace Bracelet
Twenty five years ago, in 1986, the Pope called a Peace Conclave to be held in Assisi, Italy, of all the major religions. Its purpose was to seek out the sameness and unity in each of the religions, not their differences.
Out of that conference came 12 Peace Prayers from Hindu, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Jainist, Jewish, Shinto, Native African, Native American, Muslim, Baha’i, Sikh, and Christian religions. (Prayers are listed below.)
Reverend Phran meditated on each individual prayer to perceive a single attribute. That attribute was researched and a crystal or stone was found that held that meaning. And thus, the Peace Bracelet was born! To further enhance the bracelet, small silver and gold spacer beads were placed between the groups of crystals and stones. The result: Every part of the bracelet holds meaning. The gold and silver beads represent masculine and feminine energy. The cord on which it is strung serves to remind us that we are all connected through our center.
The attribute of each stone and the religion it represents:
Hindu - sodalite - courage
Buddhist - peridot - patience
Zoroastrian - lapis lazuli - understanding
Jainist - obsidian - forgiveness
Jewish - citrine - compassion
Shinto - tourmaline - joy
Native African - aquamarine - clarity
Native American - jade - wisdom
Muslim - amethyst - gratitude
Baha'i - agate - abundance
Sikh - carnelian - generosity
Christian - rose quartz - love
Silver - feminine
Gold - masculine
These are the 12 Peace Prayers:
Hindu
Oh God, lead us from the unreal to the Real. Oh God, lead us from darkness to light. Oh God, lead us from death to immortality. Shanti, Shanti, Shanti unto all.
Buddhist
May all beings everywhere plagued with sufferings of body and mind quickly be freed from their illnesses. May all beings swiftly attain Buddhahood.
Zoroastrian
We pray to God that understanding will triumph over ignorance, that generosity will triumph over indifference, that trust will triumph over contempt, and that truth will triumph over falsehood.
Jainist
Peace and universal love is the essence of all the Gospels. Forgive do I creatures all, and let all creatures forgive me.
Jewish
Oh come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, that we may walk the path of the Most High. And we will beat our swords into ploughshares and our spears into pruning hooks.
Shinto
We earnestly wish that the wind will soon puff away all the clouds hanging over the tops of the mountains.
Native African
For you are the one who does not hesitate to respond to our call, you are the cornerstone of peace.
Native American
Give us the wisdom to teach our children to love, to respect and to be kind to one another, so that we may grow with peace in mind.
Muslim
Praise be to the Lord of the Universe, who has created us and made us into tribes and nations that we may know each other, not despise each other.
Baha'i
Be a breath of life unto the body of humankind, a dew upon the soil of the human heart, and a fruit upon the tree of humility.
Sikh
Know that we attain God when we love, and only that victory endures in consequence of which no one is defeated.
Christian
Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. Blessed be the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.
